A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CULTURAL EVENT

In just 7 years, our community-based event has become a nationally recognized cultural rendez-vous for filmmakers in search of a real event that cares about them and their work.

At YVFF, every selected project is integrated into a curated program, all within a marathon 3-day weekend produced by filmmakers, for filmmakers.

The YVFF program is structured to alternate screenings, industry events, meetings with the audience, stage appearances, parties, interviews, and moments to simply meet fellow filmmakers. You will make friends, you will promote your work, and you will have a good time doing it.

“As filmmakers ourselves, Auregan and I know what filmmakers need, because it is what we need when we present our own films. We built YVFF as a structured 3-day promotion pipeline, with energy on our end, and no pressure on your end. The program does the work for you. As an artist, you show up, walk the red carpet, and just follow the pace!” explains festival director Matt Beurois.

MULTIPLE AVENUES FOR FILMMAKERS TO PROMOTE THEIR WORK

Promotion for filmmakers includes social media collaborations with the official YVFF pages across Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Each filmmaker selected in competition is also supported by a national press release (sometimes more than one), amplified through specialized film media, websites, blogs, magazines, and reinforced with local coverage including radio and television exposure, notably through Joshua Tree TV and NBC affiliates.

In addition, movie press kits are hosted directly on the festival’s platform, and visibility continues on-site, with inclusion in the official printed program and participation in red carpet interviews, creating both live and lasting promotional assets.

“The result is simple: being part of YVFF is not just recognition or another screening. We give participants access to a growing publicity operation tailored for indie filmmakers.” says Beurois.
