The Yucca Valley Film Festival is proud to be among the first film festivals to embrace Hiike Independent, a new independent and dynamic platform designed to help filmmakers find their way into film festivals.

Built to bring greater transparency to the festival landscape, Hiike provides filmmaker-focused tools that allow submitters to easily identify the festivals best suited to their project.

“This mindset aligns with YVFF’s long-standing commitment to creating a festival experience that prioritizes filmmakers and meaningful industry connections” says YVFF Festival Director Matt Beurois.

Hiike co-founder Tyler Knohl recently recommended the YVFF on Instagram, inviting filmmakers to submit their film, music video, documentary, and other projects.

At YVFF, participating filmmakers benefit from a program that goes beyond screenings. We offer industry networking events, roundtables, a regular State of Hollywood professional panel, visits to local movie sets, and keynote speakers including professionals from NBC and independent producers.

The festival is also known for rolling out the longest red carpet in the desert, a 20-foot welcome for filmmakers and festival attendees.

The 2026 edition will award $2,500 in prize money across its categories.

Submissions are now open on Hiike Independent.
