The Yucca Valley Film Festival is now a registered member of the Film Festival Alliance, joining a global network of only 241 festivals worldwide.
This membership places YVFF alongside respected institutions such as the Sundance Film Festival, the Atlanta Film Festival, the Santa Fe International Film Festival, the San Diego International Film Festival, and DOC NYC.

Admission to the Alliance follows a rigorous vetting process.
Festivals must demonstrate that their operational standards align with recognized industry best practices, including transparency in programming and awards, respect for filmmakers and their work, inclusive audience engagement, and a commitment to sustainable event practices.
“Membership is not symbolic”, explains Matt Beurois, festival director. “It is earned, and confirms that YVFF is an event whose processes and curation are of similar quality to major festivals such as Sundance.”
For YVFF, this recognition reinforces a trajectory built on community, both on the local side working with local organzitions, busineses and of course the Town of Yucca Valley – but also on the industry side:
“The YVFF has had an international reach from year one”, recalls Auregan, co-founder. “Every year we garner more and more recognition for the work we do in service of filmmakers, their films, and their careers.”
The festival just ranked for the 13 times in the Top 100 Best Reviewed Film Festivals worldwide by FilmFreeway, placing it in the top tier of more than 14,000 global events on the platform.
YVFF has also received formal recognition from the United States Congress, the California Senate, the Secretary of State of California, San Bernardino County, and the Basin Wide Foundation. At the local level, it has been named Best Annual Event and Best Family Activity by regional press. The Joshuas Gala has further recognized the festival as a trailblazer event.
Becoming part of the Film Festival Alliance confirms that YVFF is not only a platform for independent cinema at the local level, but also an organization with a measurable broader impact, building long-term value for filmmakers, audiences, and the cultural identity of Yucca Valley.
