The Yucca Valley Film Festival’s beloved Kids Program returns on Saturday, November 8 at 1 PM with a colorful lineup of short films made for kids under 10 — and just as entertaining for parents, who will find a deeper layer of meaning and artistry in each story. This joyful selection celebrates friendship, imagination, and connection through 2D animation and 3D animation, always filled with humor and heart.

Pow!
A funny take on how a Native American kid races to find an outlet to charge his video game before the battery dies, all while surrounded by the color and rhythm of an inter-tribal powwow.
The Family Photo
Set in space, this charming short follows an astronaut who leaves a family photo on the moon — only for it to catch the attention of sympathetic aliens of all shapes and forms.
Christopher & the Bug
A tender story about an unexpected friendship between a grumpy old owl and a cheerful little bug.
Denmark
In this fun 3D LEGO adventure, two friends try to pull off the biggest heist in Downtown LA — but things don’t quite go as planned! When their plan takes a wild turn, they find themselves face to face with a powerful empire and must use creativity, teamwork, and quick thinking to make things right. Packed with action, laughs, and colorful LEGO animation, Denmark is a playful story about friendship, second chances, and building your own path — one brick at a time.
Snow Bear
Created by an animator who previously worked on The Lion King, Pocahontas, and Mulan, this beautifully crafted film follows a lonely polar bear searching for a friend in a changing Arctic world.
Kāinga Tupu (Homeland)
Made by a local artist from Twentynine Palms, this New Zealand story follows the endangered forest parrot Kākāpō as strange forces begin to disturb its home — a gentle reminder of the importance of protecting nature.
The Smurfs – The Ultimate Prank

One of Jokey’s jokes goes wrong and all of the Smurfs are turned to stone. Jokey needs to find a way to fix his mistake by himself.
