The YVFF has screened Academy Award–winning films (The Brave Locomotive, 2023), streamed star-studded titles (The Last Witness, 2022), and programmed international IP franchises (The Smurfs, 2024), while also showcasing waves of independent films every year.

At the YVFF, through our quality programming and support for emerging filmmakers, we’ve also become a platform for directors and producers to showcase their films, documentaries, music videos, and other projects.

The latest success story is the documentary Koroneburg, which we screened last year.

Documentary host Janey Bobaney represented the film, and spent the whole weekend in attendance in Yucca Valley.

The documentary director, Jake Villadolid, recently shared the message below:

Dear Matt & Auregan,

I wanted to let you know that thanks to the attention and recognition we received at the Yucca Valley Film Festival and other festivals, Koroneburg is going to be streaming on Amazon, Tubi, Xumo and Google Play starting September 19th. Our film’s incredible journey wouldn’t have been possible without your help, and we wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being such a big part of it.

David and the Koroneburg ownership team are still fighting the good fight to keep the Park alive, but have run into some obstacles and red tape. Regardless, we are hopeful that good news will come soon! In the meantime, the more people who see our documentary the better chance Koroneburg has, so please feel free to share this news however you’d like!

Please pass along our thanks to the rest of your team, as well as to the passionate and welcoming audience we found out in Yucca Valley.
Best,

Jake Villadolid

We are happy and proud that our community festival is providing a platform for independent movies to reach the next step.

Stream Koroneburg: Faires, Scares and Fantasies on Amazon now, and you can also see how to support the actual Koroneburg Renaissance Festival on their website.
