The YVFF is a community-driven, not-for-profit film festival and the signature cultural event of the Town of Yucca Valley, CA, with the Town serving as its main sponsor.
The festival’s directors bring substantial experience in film production and event planning, including work with Sharon Stone, Walker Hayes, William Baldwin, Rosanna Arquette, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Iggy Pop.
This year, the social media approach shifted from basic information and promotion to a more immersive format built around vertical reels designed for Instagram, where the local community interacts and filmmakers connect, then shared across YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels.
The series naturally presented the festival as it truly is, unfiltered and genuine. Every video was produced and edited by Auregan, co-director of the festival, with a focus on conveying the community spirit and the human scale of the event. Her work captured real moments of participation and connection, strengthening engagement across all platforms from early announcements through the final recap.
The series of videos, part of the “A Celebration of Community” campaign, generated over 100,000 organic views on Instagram, boosting the festival’s digital presence and engagement by 1,635%.
